Faber & Faber have commissioned us to design their catalogue for the last 5 years and this seasons catalogue has just arrived from the printers. Embossed and Gold and looking very very tasty, this piece of work is recognized as an important brand statement for Faber and we are told that many publishing companies use this piece of work as an industry bench mark. We will aim to get the full project on line soon.

 

Newspapers & Screenprints

We have just had a very exciting delivery... 5000 Crush newspapers showcasing some of our recent projects, some work that never made it to print, a new illustration experiment, a showcase of our moving image work, and a shout out about our recent Glug Brighton activity. "There are no problems, only solutions." has been our studio mantra for many years now and is a quote borrowed from the good man John Lennon. The newspapers will be ready to be shipped to our friends and clients in the next week or so, and we will be producing "NO PROBLEMS" limited edition screen-prints very soon.

Committed Book Cover

Following the huge success of Elizabeth Gilbert’s novel Eat Pray Love we were asked by Penguin in New York to come up with a design for her new novel Committed. We submitted a number of design but unfortunately none of them made it through to print stage. However on our return to the UK we discovered that the UK publisher, Bloomsbury loved one of our ideas and bingo... they commissioned us to complete the cover for the UK market. We worked with the super talented paper and origami expert Yulia Brodskaya to realize our concept.

Northern Lights on World Book Night

When we were asked to re-design Philip Pullman’s absolute classic book Northern Lights we were delighted. When we found out that the book was one of the selected 25 titles to be given away as part of the inaugural World Book Night, we were not only delighted but honoured. But when we were asked to re-brand the whole of the Dark Materials trilogy, well we nearly fell off our swivel chairs. Sneak Peak

Get it out of the computer, get your hands dirty... Or in this case, get your hands cold and wet. We thought it would be interesting to give you a little sneak peak now and again into some of the working methods at Crush Towers. We are currently working on a project where we needed to create an icy image, so instead of using photoshop brushes and filters we did it for real. Bought a rose, sprayed it black and froze it in ice, then photographed it. You can’t beat the real thing.
