Carl and Helen spent the day at TEDxCentralSaintMatins today listening to a range of speakers talk on the subject of Emergence - the process of evolution from the past to the future, encompassing the present. We have to say that apart from the wonderful words of Michael Wolff (Wolff Olins), the stand out talk for us was Tom Hulme who is the design director at www.ideo.com. Our director Carl has taken part in the Why Don’t You issue of this months Digital Arts magazine and has set a creative brief for aspiring designers. It’s an interesting one and open for anyone to get involved…
THE BRIEF
Lets believe that the human race has discovered life on another planet. NASA have been assigned the job to make first contact with this alien race and the design challenge set is to create a piece of communication that is a 'first point of contact' or a HELLO card if you like. The communication piece can be printed, digital or whatever you feel best would be a good first introduction to planet earth. Funny / serious / welcoming / threatening - Its up to you.
